At ASSSA we keep growing and we take a great step forward with the acquisition of the company AME Asistencia Médica de Barcelona.
Last November we purchased the company and requested the relevant authorisation to the General Directorate of Insurance, therefore hoping to accomplish the merger by absorption during the second half of this year.
AME got its start in 1943, when a group of doctors from the Provincial and Clinic Hospital from Barcelona began, with great enthusiasm, the challenge of providing first-quality private medical assistance. After 75 years, all the policyholders and staff become part of the ASSSA big family. Moreover, its offices located in the city of Barcelona will become our headquarters in Catalonia.
It is a fusion of philosophies that fits together seamlessly, because both ASSSA and AME are highly experienced, are creditworthy and offer personalised and high-quality service, which will have direct impact in the improvement of the services to all poliyholders.
With this company acquisition and the former ones with Previsora Española (Shared Care) and Previsión Popular de Seguros, we strenghten our presence in Catalonia. We are continuing to invest in this strategic location and we get and important business volume that leads us to an optimum position to keep growing our projects in the area.
