Following earlier articles on more serious, chronic respiratory diseases such as COPD and asthma, we would like to look briefly at Chronic Respiratory Failure, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Syndrome (OSAS) and suspected Lung Cancer.

Recurrent urinary tract infections in healthy women

Some 20% of healthy women will experience a urinary tract infection over a period of less than 6 months.

It is treated as a Recurrent Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) when three or more episodes occur in one year or two or more in a 6-month period.

Physiotherapy and invasive techniques: epi and dry needling

Physiotherapy is a continually evolving profession and in recent years two exciting and extremely effective new techniques have been developed. They differ from other techniques in that they are invasive, meaning that they need to penetrate the skin to reach the injury in the fascia, muscle, tendon or ligament. To do this, the physiotherapist uses very fine needles only 0.25 mm thick and between 13 mm and 70 mm in length, depending on how deep the injury lies.
