The Pilates method was created by Joseph Hubertus Pilates at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a form of exercise used primarily for functional recovery, although it has been used in the training area for some time now and is taught in gyms and other specific centres.Very generally speaking, it can be defined as the simple set of exercises which must completed during a Pilates session. 

Physiotherapy and invasive techniques: epi and dry needling

Physiotherapy is a continually evolving profession and in recent years two exciting and extremely effective new techniques have been developed. They differ from other techniques in that they are invasive, meaning that they need to penetrate the skin to reach the injury in the fascia, muscle, tendon or ligament. To do this, the physiotherapist uses very fine needles only 0.25 mm thick and between 13 mm and 70 mm in length, depending on how deep the injury lies.

Cycling, done rationally, has a clear beneficial effect in the main risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. There is ample evidence that low cardiovascular fitness is an important risk factor for al causes of mortality in men and women.
